Lafayette County was one of 13 counties that had been created in February of 1836 by the state legislature. Most of the counties were given Chickasaw names, but Lafayette was named for the Marquis de Lafayette, the young French aristocrat who fought alongside the Americans during the Revolutionary War.
The Inn at Ole Miss is the official Hotel partner of the Lafayette County Rodeo.
What was once just a small bed and breakfast hotel became what it is today — a modern, state-of-the-art facility for all of our alumni and friends to use. In a combined effort with the Ole Miss Alumni Association, The Inn at Ole Miss has become one of the greatest additions to the Ole Miss campus in the 21st century.
