Dusti Dickerson was born and raised with horses and rodeo!
Her father and uncle owned and operated a small rodeo company from the time Dusti was 3 years old. She grew up barrel racing, carrying flags and was also a competitive gymnast. Unbeknownst to her parents they had created a perfect storm of a daughter to become a trick and Roman rider.
Dusti first saw trick and Roman riding a dinner show in Branson, Mo. She was hooked the minute she saw the fast horses, acrobatics and fancy costumes! She went home, practiced countless hours on some reliable pickup horses and away she went!!
After Dustis first performance at age 11 she has become one of the most known Roman Riders in the country. She is most known for her unique style of Roman riding bareback and barefoot atop very fast horses!
At just 18 years old she became the featured Roman rider at the legendary Dolly Partons Stampede in Pigeon Forge, Tn. She held that position for 13 years before moving to her hometown of St. Peter, Illinois and hitting the rodeo road full time! In the past three years she has been as far east as New York and as far west as California. She’s been featured at the Cheyenne Frontier Days and was the chosen Specialty Act at the Great Lakes Circuit Finals! Dusti recently was honored to be selected to perform at the First Frontier Circuit Finals in Delaware!
This year Dusti is excited to be adding 3 and 4 horses to her Roman riding repertoire and also performs her trick riding act alongside husband Justin Dickerson with whom she welcomed her first child Cruz! Together they display timing, teamwork and a love for what they do!
2021 is going to be a year of high flying acts, flashy costumes and a big smile for any rodeo event!!
